A “PANK” is a Professional Aunt, No Kids.
Five Little Monkeys.
At the World Travel Market conference in London in 2013 “PANK travel” — aunts vacationing with nieces and nephews — was identified as one of its top travel trends for 2014.
I have five nephews. They are my favorite people in the world.
A few years ago I decided that memorable experiences were better than gifts. With grandparents and other aunts and uncles these kids get quite a haul at holidays and birthdays. Besides, they will never remember who bought them which set of Legos.
Instead, I take them places. Usually 2 or more of them come with me. This year, they are getting one of my vacation days for Christmas, and one “un-birthday” trip.
So watch for PANK posts as the snow melts and we are able to safely travel and take our day trips.
