The Weber House is a storybook tudor cottage. It sits on a two-acre English garden with meandering paths, roses, hollyhocks, and old oaks. Inside, cozy candlelit rooms reflect the 18th century.

The history of the Weber House is interlaced with the rich and famous.
Ted Weber is a long-time Chicago radio and television personality. He is the creator of Weber House and Garden. He will introduce you to each room as you tour the house. His stories of Eleanor Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon and many others will surprise and delight you.

Mr. Weber’s nationally syndicated radio shows originated from various Chicago landmarks. These include The Italian Village, Punchinello’s on Rush, and Marina City. They also originated from Piper’s Alley in Old Town and the Blackstone and Knickerbocker Hotels. His guests ranged from movie stars, to politicians and authors. His interviewing skills also took him to Europe where he filed reports for NBC. His television credits include “Ted and the Angel,” “C.E.T. Amateur Hour,” “Ted Weber In Old Town,” and “A.M. Chicago”.

Ted has planted and tended these gardens by himself for many years. He has hand placed each plant and rock and has dug the ponds himself.

It is a labor of love.

The garden is divided into several rooms that showcase different ponds, fountains or plants.

The garden is beautiful all year long.

We visited the Weber House & Garden today. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful gardens and delightful house. Our personally led tour by Ted Weber kept us enthralled. His tidbits of information about various plants and how the garden came about held our interest from the moment we entered the inviting front gate until we exited the home. We hope to return in another season to see the gardens and to introduce our friends to this enjoyable haven for plant lovers.
